Your hours at the office are getting longer and longer, life is more hectic and you have not been to the gym in weeks. You’re not alone. In these economic times many CEOs and other senior personnel are finding themselves working extra hours and neglecting their personal routines. Even if you had the time to go to the gym, you just don’t have the energy.
Well, if you can’t go to the gym why not have the gym come to you? Home gyms are increasing in popularity all over the world. The best thing about them is that you can exercise at any time, and you don’t have to wait in line for the equipment.
Choose a bright, airy part of the house to be transformed into your new gym, or if you have to design and build one be sure that it is well ventilated. The best home gyms are those that cater to the entire family. Ladies tend to enjoy different aspects of the gym as well as different machines and equipment, although there are several that can be shared.
Guys tend to go for weight benches and free weights, combo work stations, ab and core trainers, and rowing machines more readily as they usually want to build and tone muscles as well as work the heart.
Generally, ladies have a preference for pilates, yoga, spin classes, aerobics, and light weights for toning.
Skipping ropes, exercise balls, punching bags, treadmills, trampolines, exercise bikes, and ellipticals would suit the entire family.
Once your new gym is in place you’ll need the discipline to use it. Chances are you may need to schedule early morning workouts. Rise before the sun, exercise to your heart’s content, shower, then off to the office.
The sooner you stop making excuses, the sooner you start taking care of your heart and health.
